ISKCON Nashik Prasadam
Every person who visits ISKCON Nashik is offered prasadam which consists of either halava, multi-grain kichari, hot meal, etc. — all prepared with devotion and offered to Sri Sri Radha Madan Gopal before distribution.
Prasadam is not ordinary food. It is spiritually purified food that has been offered to the Supreme Lord. By honouring prasadam, one receives spiritual benefit and purification of the heart.

Last year ISKCON Nashik distributed more than 10 lakh plates of prasada meal and 6 million cups of halava / kichari in and outside the temple premises — during festivals, Anna Dan Seva, Makar Sankranti, and many other occasions.

Origins of Food for Life
A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami, shocked upon seeing village children in Mayapur fighting with street dogs over scraps of food, told his disciples: "No one within ten miles of a temple should go hungry… I want you to immediately begin serving food."
Expansion
ISKCON expanded its vision of prasadam distribution and developed the Food for Life program to target food distribution to the less fortunate. Special food distribution vehicles were purchased and daily delivery routes to low-income areas began.
